"Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead. Sometimes you're behind. The race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself" -Mary Schmich
That quote should be the theme for everyone's life. We live in a world that is sometimes overly commercialized with outrageous and narcissistic individuals. I am guilty of such behavior. It's easy to become consumed when constantly broadcasting, "look at me" on social networks, blogs, twitter. I have them all, love using them too.
But, there is another quote I try to follow, "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." Pet Peeve: I don't understand why people leave shopping carts in the parking lot, when there is a special area to place them. By not putting the cart away, you're making someone else's job harder. Common courtesy costs nothing.
Don't get me wrong, I think self promotion is wonderful. If you don't believe in yourself first, how can others believe in you? I'm just saying, don't be so caught up in your personal world, that others, get left behind. And just because I do put shopping carts away, doesn't make me the person of the year.
It's all about putting yourself in other people shoes. If part of my job was putting shopping carts away all day, I would really appreciate the people who put them back in their rightful place. As for jealousy, there will always be a lesser or greater person than yourself, and the only time you should look down on people, is if you are helping picking them up.
Until next time,
